July 1 - August 30 - The City of Fort Walton Beach Heritage Park & Cultural Center announces the coming arrival of its second summer exhibit, "Florida's Lost Tribes." The exhibition showcases the compelling artwork of Theodore Morris, portrait creator of Florida's ancient vanished people. His award-winning work and self-authored book is based on research with renowned archaeologists across the state. Free and open to the public On loan from the Brogan Museum, this collection of artists’ works is conceptually based in ecological or environmental issues and solutions. Some of the best contemporary artists from the southeastern region are displayed – James Rosenquist, Linda Hall, Scott Groniger, Marilee Keyes, Tim Hunter, Kathryn Refi, Alex White, Meshakai Wolf, Stephen Shepard and Joe Walters. July 25 - Tapestry Park Cinema Brings Movies to Life in Panama City Beach. Bring your lawn chairs, picnic baskets and blankets and get ready for the second installment of Tapestry Park Cinema. Tapestry Park will continue hosting a free movie night on Friday, July 25th. The event will run once a month through September. Each month, a well known film will be shown on a giant 16-foot screen in Savannah Park. Tapestry Park Cinema will also be offering a cash-only concession stand. This months offering is "Surf's Up!"

“We received numerous compliments following the first movie night at Tapestry Park and everyone is so excited for this event to continue,” said Mark Tanney, the developer of Tapestry Park. “We have had such an outpouring of support from the community and hope others will come join us for the next movie; who doesn’t love surfing penguins!”
The screenings will begin at sundown, around 8:00 p.m.; however, guests are encouraged to arrive early to secure their spot on the lawn. The cash-only concession stand will feature popcorn, sodas, juices and bottled water. Tapestry Park Cinema will run on Fridays July 25th, August 29th and September 26th. Barefoot Cottages is opening up their Community Building on the Green for a painting workshop on Friday, July 25 from 6 to 9pm. Workshops are led by local artist, Heather Parker.
Painting workshops are designed for everyone, from those that have never picked up a paintbrush to the experienced painter! Adults and children over the age of 12 are welcome- we use acrylic paints, you get as much guidance and instruction as you want, and everyone leaves with a finished painting on 16 x 20 canvas.
This month's theme is a relaxing "Beach Scene". Calm waters, blue sky, smooth sand- the perfect summer scene for tourists and locals.

Heather Parker is a visual artist and instructor and Creative Director Of ArtCoop: creative collective in Panama City. Her art is on exhibit at the Thirsty Goat (PSJ) through the month of July as Gulf Alliance for Local Arts featured artist of the month. She regulary instructs art workshops at Prickly Pear (MB), Palm Tree Books (PSJ) and the newest venue, Barefoot Cottages (PSJ). Thorugh GALA, Heather has also taught art classes at the PSJ Senior Center, Gulf County ARC, and is the instructor of the Summer Arts Program for Kids. This years one day benefit fishing tournament will be for Daniel Miller, a Gulf county resident and assistant Wewa softball coach who suffered a stroke in December 2007 and now resides in Bay St. Joseph. July 25 - Tapestry Park Cinema Brings Movies to Life in Panama City Beach. Bring your lawn chairs, picnic baskets and blankets and get ready for the second installment of Tapestry Park Cinema. Tapestry Park will continue hosting a free movie night on Friday, July 25th. The event will run once a month through September. Each month, a well known film will be shown on a giant 16-foot screen in Savannah Park. Tapestry Park Cinema will also be offering a cash-only concession stand.
“We received numerous compliments following the first movie night at Tapestry Park and everyone is so excited for this event to continue,” said Mark Tanney, the developer of Tapestry Park. “We have had such an outpouring of support from the community and hope others will come join us for the next movie; who doesn’t love surfing penguins!”
The screenings will begin at sundown, around 8:00 p.m.; however, guests are encouraged to arrive early to secure their spot on the lawn.
